Best Final Fantasy XIV jobs

3267 duels later, Samurai remains #1 in the Final Fantasy XIV job ranking, with Monk at 1275 ELO trailing behind.

Samurai dominates the podium with 1355 ELO points and a 70% win rate across 61 duels, establishing an 80-point gap over Monk in second place. This substantial lead reflects the community's clear preference for the katana-wielding discipline. Just behind Monk, Summoner sits at 1274 ELO after 74 duels, edging out Dragoon by 5 points despite the latter's 57% win rate. Dancer rounds out the top 5 at 1251 ELO, maintaining a 56% win rate over 61 duels. The bottom of the ranking tells a different story: Scholar languishes at rank 20 with just 1022 ELO and a 27% win rate across 52 duels, trailing Blue Mage at 1098 ELO and Black Mage at 1114 ELO. The healer's struggle suggests the community favors damage-dealing roles over support classes.

This ranking draws from 3267 duels submitted by 53 players across 20 contenders, updated on 12 October 2026. Whether you favor the swift strikes of melee DPS or the calculated support of healers, the ranking remains open to your input. Cast your vote in head-to-head duels and shift the balance between jobs, or confirm Samurai's reign at the top of Eorzea's combat disciplines.

How this ranking is computed

Every duel won lifts a contender and every loss drops them, by an amount that depends on the opponent's strength: beating the leader is worth more than beating the last. It is an ELO, the same principle as in chess. Duels are not drawn at random — an adaptive entropy sort puts the least predictable match-ups first, which settles the ranking far faster than a full round robin. A worldwide ranking is only published past 30 completed plays. Known limit: a contender who has faced few opponents keeps an approximate score, and the bottom of the table moves more than the podium.
