The VAINKEURZ editorial team

The VAINKEURZ editorial team writes from a single source: the 13,570,585 duels voted by the community. No ranking is decided by a writer; the texts tell the story of what players chose.

Who writes?

The texts are drafted by writing assistants and reviewed by the VAINKEURZ team, a French team that has run the site since 2012. In-depth articles, barometers and studies are reviewed in full before publication. The short texts on ranking pages (a contender's blurb, a subject's introduction) are checked automatically, then by sampling. About

Where do the figures come from?

From the VAINKEURZ database, and nowhere else. Every number in a text (duels, players, ELO score, win rate, rank) is checked against the data at the time of publication; a text with a figure that does not match is not published. When an article compares our rankings with an outside source (a critics' score, a press ranking), the source and its date are stated.

What we do not write

No ranking decided in the newsroom: the result is the vote's, even when it surprises. No rumours or biographies: a contender is presented by what makes it recognisable, nothing more. No superlative without a figure: "the best" only exists if the community put it on top.

How do you report an error?

Errors are reported from the contact page. A wrong figure, a misattributed contender or a clumsy translation is corrected after review, and every page shows its last update date. Contact us

How do you cite VAINKEURZ?

By linking to the ranking page, which carries its own figures and date. Suggested format: "According to the VAINKEURZ ranking of {date}, {no. 1} tops the {subject} ranking across {duels} duels." How our rankings are made
