What is VAINKEURZ?
VAINKEURZ is an app for pop culture rankings voted in duels by the community. 13,600,480 duels have been voted across 6,008 TopList, in 17 categories.
How do you play?
You pick a TopList, two contenders appear, you tap your favourite, and so on for two to three minutes. At the end, you get your personal ranking.
Do you need an account?
Not to play. An account lets you find your rankings again, earn Keurz and trophies, create TopList and appear in championships.
Is it free?
Yes, completely, with no paid feature to play.
On which devices?
In any browser, on mobile or desktop. Nothing to install.
The rankings
How are the rankings made?
Every duel updates the ELO score of both contenders; the world ranking is the order of those scores. It is recalculated after every duel. The ELO rating explained
Why isn't a ranking showing yet?
A world ranking is published from 30 games played onwards. Below that, it is not stable enough to be shown.
Does my vote really count?
Yes, as much as any other player's. No vote carries extra weight.
Can the rankings be rigged?
Abnormal games (too fast, always the same answer) are discarded before the calculation, and a single vote does not move a ranking built on thousands of duels.
Why has the ranking changed since yesterday?
Because players have voted since. Every ranking page shows its last update date.
Creating
How do you create a TopList?
With an account: a question, a list of contenders with their images, a category and a subject. It is reviewed before publication.
Why was my TopList rejected?
Most often: a duplicate of an existing TopList, too few contenders (at least 2 are needed), missing images, or content that is not suitable for everyone. The reason is shown in your dashboard.
Can I edit a published TopList?
You can suggest adding contenders. Removing a contender that has already been voted on is restricted so as not to distort the ranking.
In which languages?
French, English, Spanish, Portuguese and Italian. A TopList created in one language is translated into the others.
Sharing and embedding
How do I share my ranking?
As an image, from the end of the game, in a social media format.
Can you embed a ranking on your website?
Yes, every world ranking has an embeddable widget. Play a TopList live on Twitch
Can you cite a VAINKEURZ ranking?
Yes, with a link to the ranking page. The figures (duels, win rate) there are public and dated.
Account and data
What data is collected?
Your votes, and your email if you create an account. Votes are aggregated into the rankings; nobody sees your individual duels. Privacy policy
How do I delete my account?
From your account settings, you send a deletion request; the team processes it, and you can cancel it while it is pending. Your already aggregated votes stay in the rankings, with no link to you.
How do I report content?
Write to us from the contact page, naming the TopList or contender concerned. The team reviews every report and corrects or removes the content when needed. Contact us
