Best shiny grass starter Pokémon

Treecko leads the shiny Grass-type starter Pokémon ranking with 1327 ELO points over 127 duels, ahead of Rowlet and Bulbasaur.

Rowlet sits just 10 ELO points behind Treecko at rank 2, but a sharp 75-point gap separates it from Bulbasaur in third place. Despite Rowlet's higher win rate of 60%, Treecko holds the top position with 1327 ELO and a 59% win rate. The ranking reveals a tight race at the summit and a brutal divide after the podium. Chespin at rank 4 trails Bulbasaur by 28 points, while Turtwig rounds out the top 5 with 1178 ELO. At the bottom, Grookey languishes at rank 8 with 1140 ELO and a 39% win rate, showing that not all shiny starters captivate the community equally. Chikorita appears twice in the lower ranks, suggesting data duplication or variant entries.

This ranking draws from 521 duels submitted by 29 players across 9 contenders, updated on 12 October 2026. The narrow margin at the top and the decisive gap below the podium highlight how preferences split sharply after the initial favorites. Cast your vote on VAINKEURZ to shape the next update and push your preferred shiny starter toward the summit.

How this ranking is computed

Every duel won lifts a contender and every loss drops them, by an amount that depends on the opponent's strength: beating the leader is worth more than beating the last. It is an ELO, the same principle as in chess. Duels are not drawn at random — an adaptive entropy sort puts the least predictable match-ups first, which settles the ranking far faster than a full round robin. A worldwide ranking is only published past 30 completed plays. Known limit: a contender who has faced few opponents keeps an approximate score, and the bottom of the table moves more than the podium.
