Strongest One Piece emperors

937 duels later, Whitebeard is still #1 in the One Piece Emperor strength ranking, with Shanks close behind.

Whitebeard commands the top with 1463 ELO points and a 63% win rate across 273 duels, but Shanks trails by just 14 points despite posting a stronger 71% win rate over 242 duels. The narrow margin between these two legendary figures reflects genuine community debate over who deserves the crown. The real fracture appears below the podium: 137 ELO points separate Shanks from Monkey D. Luffy in third place, the ranking's widest gap and a sign that voters see a clear tier break after the top two. Kaido and Marshall D. Teach occupy the middle ground with modest win rates of 50% and 47% respectively, while the bottom half tells a harsh story about perceived strength. Big Mom sits second-to-last with 1048 ELO points, and Buggy anchors the ranking at 716 points with an 8% win rate over 180 duels, a brutal verdict from the community on the clown Emperor's combat credentials.

This ranking stems from 937 duels judged by 79 players across 7 contenders, last updated on 11 October 2026. The tight race at the summit and the collapse at the bottom both invite further participation. How this ranking is computed

Every duel won lifts a contender and every loss drops them, by an amount that depends on the opponent's strength: beating the leader is worth more than beating the last. It is an ELO, the same principle as in chess. Duels are not drawn at random — an adaptive entropy sort puts the least predictable match-ups first, which settles the ranking far faster than a full round robin. A worldwide ranking is only published past 30 completed plays. Known limit: a contender who has faced few opponents keeps an approximate score, and the bottom of the table moves more than the podium.
