Goku vs Vegeta: Who Wins According to the Community?

As of 17 October 2026, in 7 direct duels on VAINKEURZ, Goku beat Vegeta 86 times out of 100. The rivalry between the two Saiyans has run through every arc of Dragon Ball since Vegeta first landed on Earth, and the community has now voted on it, one duel at a time. Here is what those votes say, and how far you can trust them.

The head-to-head

A direct duel is simple: a player sees Goku and Vegeta side by side and picks one. Across every public TopList where the two met, Goku took 6 of the 7 duels and Vegeta took 1. That gives Goku 86 percent of the wins and Vegeta 14 percent. Most of those duels happened in one place, the world ranking of the Strongest Dragon Ball Z Fighters TopList.

Goku is the Saiyan raised on Earth, the one who keeps looking for a stronger opponent and keeps finding a new form when he needs it. The community rewards exactly that: he sits at No. 1 in the fighters ranking with an ELO of 1856, and the duel result against his rival follows the same line.

Vegeta is the prince of the Saiyans, the rival who arrived as a villain and spent the rest of the series trying to catch up. He sits at No. 3 with an ELO of 1581. The gap between the two is the story of the series itself: Vegeta is never far, and never quite there.

Where they stand in the rankings

A duel result tells you who wins when the two meet. A ranking tells you how each character does against everyone. Both matter, and here they point in the same direction, with one surprise in between.

In the Strongest Dragon Ball Z Fighters TopList, the question is raw power. Goku is No. 1, Vegeta is No. 3, and the character between them is Gohan, at No. 2 with an ELO of 1714. The community remembers the Cell Games: when it comes to strength, Goku's son is ranked above the prince.

The picture shifts in the Best Super Saiyans TopList, where the question is not who is strongest but which transformation looks the best. There, Goku ranks No. 2 with an ELO of 1526, while Vegeta is represented by his Majin form, ranked No. 3 with 1499. Style is a different contest from strength, and the prince's darkest moment is the one the community likes to look at.

Two other Dragon Ball rankings help read the rivalry. The Best Dragon Ball Movies TopList shows which films carried the duo to the big screen, and the Best Dragon Ball Couples TopList is where Vegeta, through Bulma, often does better than his rival.

What tips the votes

Reading the numbers carefully matters more than quoting them. Three things stand out.

• The question changes the answer. Asked who is the strongest, the community puts Goku first and even slips Gohan ahead of Vegeta. Asked which Super Saiyan form looks best, the gap narrows and the order can flip. The same two characters, a different question, a different result.
• The duel is a popularity contest as much as a power contest. Players pick the character they like, not the one they could justify with a power level. Goku has been the face of the series for decades; Vegeta's fans are loud but fewer.
• The data has limits. VAINKEURZ notes that head-to-head totals are cumulative and do not tell automated games apart from human ones. Treat the figures as a community snapshot, not a verdict from the author of the series.

If you like this kind of debate, the other Dragon Ball pages work the same way. You can rank the seven orbs themselves in the Dragon Balls TopList, or move to another rivalry entirely with the Strongest Akatsuki Members TopList.
