Best characters from The Boys

661 duels later, William "Billy" Butcher remains #1 in The Boys ranking, ahead of Kimiko Miyashiro / "The Female" and Annie January / "Starlight".

A 150-point ELO gap separates Butcher from Kimiko Miyashiro / "The Female" in second place, the widest margin in the ranking. Butcher wins 70% of his matchups across 61 duels, cementing his position as the community's favorite. The podium's next two spots belong to Kimiko and Annie January / "Starlight", who sit level at 1205 ELO despite contrasting win rates of 52% and 48% respectively. Serge / "Frenchie" and Marvin "Mother's Milk" / "MM" follow in fourth and fifth with 1162 and 1138 points. Hugh "Hughie" Campbell lands at the bottom with 1128 ELO and a 39% win rate, suggesting the protagonist's earnestness may not resonate as strongly with voters as Butcher's ruthless edge or Kimiko's silent ferocity.

How this ranking is computed

Every duel won lifts a contender and every loss drops them, by an amount that depends on the opponent's strength: beating the leader is worth more than beating the last. It is an ELO, the same principle as in chess. Duels are not drawn at random — an adaptive entropy sort puts the least predictable match-ups first, which settles the ranking far faster than a full round robin. A worldwide ranking is only published past 30 completed plays. Known limit: a contender who has faced few opponents keeps an approximate score, and the bottom of the table moves more than the podium.
