Best How i Met your Mother couples

92 ELO points separate Ted & Tracy from Ted & Victoria in the cutest How I Met Your Mother couples ranking, after 1335 duels.

Marshall & Lily command the top spot with 1389 ELO points, followed closely by Barney & Robin at 1365. The 24-point gap between them reflects a genuine contest for favorite couple status. Ted & Tracy hold third place at 1329, but a sharp 92-point drop to Ted & Victoria in fourth reveals a decisive break between the community's preferred pairings and the rest. At the bottom, Ted & Trudy languish at 970 ELO points, suggesting the Pumpkin Girl never convinced voters she belonged among the show's memorable romances. Barney & Nora and Ted & Stella occupy the lower ranks, confirming that brief relationships failed to win hearts despite their screen time.

This ranking draws from 1335 duels cast by 61 players across 10 couples, updated on 11 October 2026. Marshall & Lily's dominance and the tight race for second place show that voters reward both stability and chemistry when judging cuteness. Whether you champion the endgame couples or root for the road-not-taken romances, the ranking remains open: cast your votes and shape the standings.

How this ranking is computed

Every duel won lifts a contender and every loss drops them, by an amount that depends on the opponent's strength: beating the leader is worth more than beating the last. It is an ELO, the same principle as in chess. Duels are not drawn at random — an adaptive entropy sort puts the least predictable match-ups first, which settles the ranking far faster than a full round robin. A worldwide ranking is only published past 30 completed plays. Known limit: a contender who has faced few opponents keeps an approximate score, and the bottom of the table moves more than the podium.
