76 ELO points separate Pathé Gaumont from CGR Cinemas at the top of the Movie Theaters ranking, after 482 duels.

Pathé Gaumont dominates with 1359 ELO points and a 70% win rate across 30 duels, establishing a commanding lead over second-placed CGR Cinemas at 1283 points. The 76-point gap between these two chains is the sharpest in the ranking, underlining Pathé Gaumont's grip on audience preference. UGC holds third with 1259 points despite facing the most duels at 37, suggesting sustained engagement even if it trails the leaders. MK2 sits at 1193 points with a 50% win rate over 26 duels, while Kinepolis completes the top 5 at 1177 points. The middle tier remains tight, with just 35 points separating third from fifth place. At the bottom, Grand Écran Cinemas struggles at 1044 points with only a 22% win rate across 18 duels, revealing a clear divide between the established leaders and smaller regional chains. How this ranking is computed

Every duel won lifts a contender and every loss drops them, by an amount that depends on the opponent's strength: beating the leader is worth more than beating the last. It is an ELO, the same principle as in chess. Duels are not drawn at random — an adaptive entropy sort puts the least predictable match-ups first, which settles the ranking far faster than a full round robin. A worldwide ranking is only published past 30 completed plays. Known limit: a contender who has faced few opponents keeps an approximate score, and the bottom of the table moves more than the podium.
