Best Paranormal Activity movies

56 ELO points separate Paranormal Activity 4 from Paranormal Activity 3 in the Paranormal Activity ranking, after 380 duels.

The original Paranormal Activity holds the top spot with 1275 ELO points, edging out Paranormal Activity 2 by just 6 points. That narrow margin reflects how closely matched the first two films are in the eyes of voters. Paranormal Activity 4 takes third place at 1237 points, but the ranking's sharpest drop occurs immediately below: a 56-point gap pushes Paranormal Activity 3 down to fourth. That gulf marks the franchise's most decisive split in community opinion, suggesting the third installment failed to maintain the momentum of its predecessors. Paranormal Activity: Tokyo Night follows at 1174 points in fifth place. At the bottom, Paranormal Activity: The Ghost Dimension sits at 1111 points, trailing the top by 164 points and confirming its status as the least favored entry in the series. The wide spread across the ranking shows how divisive the franchise became as it expanded beyond its original concept.

The ranking draws on 380 duels cast by 31 players across 7 contenders, updated on 12 October 2026. How this ranking is computed

Every duel won lifts a contender and every loss drops them, by an amount that depends on the opponent's strength: beating the leader is worth more than beating the last. It is an ELO, the same principle as in chess. Duels are not drawn at random — an adaptive entropy sort puts the least predictable match-ups first, which settles the ranking far faster than a full round robin. A worldwide ranking is only published past 30 completed plays. Known limit: a contender who has faced few opponents keeps an approximate score, and the bottom of the table moves more than the podium.
