Best Divergent factions

Dauntless leads the Divergent ranking with 1372 ELO points over 17 duels, ahead of Amity and Candor.

A 135-point gap separates Dauntless from second-place Amity, the widest spread in this ranking. Dauntless wins 82% of its duels, a dominance that reflects the faction's appeal among voters who favor bravery over peace. Amity, despite claiming the runner-up spot with 1237 points, wins barely more than half its matchups at 52%, suggesting a more contested position than its rank implies. Candor rounds out the top three with 1152 points and a 45% win rate, trailing Amity by 85 points. At the bottom, Erudite sits in fifth place with 1101 points and a 37% win rate, suggesting that knowledge-seekers struggle to win over a community drawn to more visceral virtues. Abnegation, the selfless faction, holds fourth with 1130 points but wins only 40% of its duels, placing it just 29 points ahead of Erudite in a tight race for the lower ranks.

How this ranking is computed

Every duel won lifts a contender and every loss drops them, by an amount that depends on the opponent's strength: beating the leader is worth more than beating the last. It is an ELO, the same principle as in chess. Duels are not drawn at random — an adaptive entropy sort puts the least predictable match-ups first, which settles the ranking far faster than a full round robin. A worldwide ranking is only published past 30 completed plays. Known limit: a contender who has faced few opponents keeps an approximate score, and the bottom of the table moves more than the podium.
