Best Italian car brands

Ferrari wins 77% of its duels and tops the Italian car brand ranking ahead of Lamborghini.

The podium confirms the dominance of Italy's supercar makers, with Ferrari at 1455 ELO points and Lamborghini at 1391. But the sharpest divide lies between ranks 2 and 3, where 182 ELO points separate Lamborghini from Alfa Romeo. That gap signals a clear boundary: above it, the exotic manufacturers built on racing heritage and exclusivity; below it, brands with broader histories and mass-market roots. At the bottom, Lancia sits at 974 points with a 26% win rate, reflecting its retreat from the sports car arena and its reduced presence outside Italy. Fiat, at 1055 points, fares only slightly better, suggesting that volume and practicality hold less appeal than prestige in this vote.

This ranking draws on 559 duels cast by 47 players across 7 contenders, last updated on 12 October 2026. The vote remains open: every duel shifts the ELO scores and sharpens the hierarchy. Head to the platform, pick your preferred brand in each pairing, and shape the outcome. Whether you value racing pedigree, design language, or engineering philosophy, your choice adds weight to the debate over which Italian carmaker deserves the top spot.

How this ranking is computed

Every duel won lifts a contender and every loss drops them, by an amount that depends on the opponent's strength: beating the leader is worth more than beating the last. It is an ELO, the same principle as in chess. Duels are not drawn at random — an adaptive entropy sort puts the least predictable match-ups first, which settles the ranking far faster than a full round robin. A worldwide ranking is only published past 30 completed plays. Known limit: a contender who has faced few opponents keeps an approximate score, and the bottom of the table moves more than the podium.
