However, this year, throughOlivier Jaquet, we were asked to boost engagement during the CANAL+ Group’ s Twitch stream using our TopList concept.

The Twitch livestream was dedicated to Formula 1 and hosted by Margot Laffite and Laurent Dupin—two people I really like.

🆚 Driver showdowns appeared on the screen, and Margot and Laurent had to debate and click on the driver they thought was better.

The matches keep coming one after another all the way to the final 🏆

💥 What makes the TopList format TopList unique is that viewers don’t just watch—they become active participants in the live stream by voting directly in the chat, simply by typing 1️⃣ or 2️⃣ during each head-to-head match.

⚖️ The total number of votes appears on the screen in real time, allowing the hosts to take the community’s opinion into account (or not 😈) for each matchup.

This system boosts interaction and fosters genuine engagement with fans, while also offering the ability to create viral short-form videos featuring the most memorable showdowns 🤳

Just for the record, I got to chat with Margot after the TopList really liked the format—and following that livestream, we set up more TopList Canal’s Twitch channel for the Champions League as well as for basketball, with viewers actively participating and feeling included in each livestream.
